Red River, Austin, TX

Red River is in the middle of Austin nightlife, located between Downtown and I-35.  It is bordered in the north by 12th street and in the south by Cesar Chavez street.  A clear substitute to 6th street, Red River features clubs and bars of a more “alternative” variety, while literally offering housing on the doorstep to some of the most popular venues in Austin.  Steps away are Austin live music staples such as Stubb’s BBQ and Mohawk.  Dine at Serrano’s at the old Symphony Square, or grab a slice of pizza or hot dog on the way to a show.  There is always something going on in Red River.  Waller Creek feeds from Ladybird Lake along the strip, with the city perpetually discussing the creation of something similar to the San Antonio River Walk. Red River is served by Austin ISD.
